This infographic aims to convey the work of Oxfam’s Food Security for Tanzania Farmers Programme. It is clear that whilst Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) programme provided valuable financial opportunities for women, unpaid care work was not taken into account. This infographic illustrates the findings of 2015-17 research by IDS which aimed to find means by which WEE programmes and policies can take unpaid care work into account, enabling women’s economic empowerment to be optimised and shared across the family, creating generational change.

Rebecca Webb is an IDS MA Development Studies student from Manchester, U.K. Prior to studying at IDS she worked for a multinational digital media agency using her communications expertise to contribute to strategy and programming of the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) team. To gain more practical experience she then worked as a Communications Officer based in both Nepal and Tanzania for sustainable development NGO, Raleigh International. In the future Rebecca hopes to pursue her passion for digital communications and journalism for development.
